Westfield Albany
2010 active fundraising by the Westfield Albany Mega Centre resulted in an amazing contribution to the Home Care 4 Kids programme assisting children healing at home after significant illness & injury
The team at Westfield Albany presented a cheque for $15,000 to the Home Care 4 Kids project, a brilliant effort for children in our area.
The Management Team at Westfield Albany have nominated the Special Care Baby Unit at North Shore Hospital(2008-2010) as one of the beneficiaries of their corporate /community responsibility programme.

They have joined their community in support of two major events to benefit the smallest members in their area.

Westfield “Light up the Albany Skyline”
Both these spectacular events benefitted the Special care baby Unit with funds to purchase advanced medical equipment to ensure expert care & comfort for the babies.
2009:
Westfield Albany Centre continued their amazing support for the unit with a donation of $8,000 towards the purchase of a new incubator set up This donation resulted from the Albany Centre’s Xmas Wrap promotion where they invited the public to drop a ‘Gold Coin’ donation in return for specialist wrapping services.
They are supporting their community with ongoing events from the Albany Super Centre

All these events for 2008-2009 and early 2010 have benefitted the Foundations campaign to purchase additional equipment for the Special Care Baby Unit.
A Dreagar cot, a Bilibed and accessories and an Isolette Incubator have been presented to the unit through the generosity of Westfield Albany

2010: Excitement surrounded another generous donation which ensured the campaign goal to purchase the incubator was reached.
Westfield Albany now has plans afoot for its third Xmas event for the North Shore.
“ Xmas at The Lake event will expand on the previous Lighting up the Sky events and include Xmas Carolling entertainment for the North Shore & Rodney communities. The North Shores very own Xmas in the Park
November 2010 A spectacular evening of entertainment and fireworks including a fabulous raffle with a prize valued at $5,000 drew a crowd of around 80,000 to celebrate the arrival of Christmas. The Albany Centre also contributed its Xmas Wrap project to assist in providing ongoing support for a Home Care 4 Kids medical & comfort loan service- helping children heal in their homes
