This project is to provide a large art work for the main foyer of North Shore Hospital. A seven panelled two dimensional artwork showing Rangitoto, Lake Pupuke and the Waitemata with the hospital held safely in the gaze of the Maori God Rangi (the sky) and his wife Papatuanuku (the earth) is being produced by Auckland artist Michelle Stuart. Funding is being sought from a range of art sponsorship agencies, individual sponsors and the public.
A black and white replica of the mural is hanging on the site the completed work will eventually be sited. The first panel, the greenstone prow of the canoe has been in place since late 2004, and will soon be joined by the second panel. It is awaited with much anticipation.
As funds are contributed by the public the mural inches towards completion. Please give generously.
Mid 2006 the second panel of the series was installed. This panel depicts Papatuunuku(Earth Mother) sitting beside Lake Pupuke under the safe gaze of her husband Ranginui(Sky Father) on the horizon.
The mural growth is dependant on public donations.

Professionally mounted coloured replicas of the mural are for sale for fundraising.
