Chill Zone Project

Chill zone project This project is concerned with providing zones for staff to relax away from the intensity of the clinical environment. In the current hospital layout there is little provision for areas that allow staff to sit and relax or rest quietly. each floor in the main block is planning to allocate an area which would include a fold down sofa, tables, comfortable chairs, refreshment facilities, TV and mini sound systems.

Refurbished lounge

This project will modernise where patients can relax, watch TV, listen to the radio, or read. These areas provide space away from the bedside and are particularly valued by patients in four bedded-rooms. This project will provide these lounges with suitable lounge furniture, good televisions, a mini sound system, books and magazines.

Staff Chill Zone The staff lounge area with comfortable seating overlooking Lake Pupuke has been completed. It includes a TV and sound system, plus an outdoor area. We are currently working to provide more facilities for the staff to take their breaks.

Internet cafe and lounge The Internet cafe is situated in the lounge facility, where all staff can enjoy free internet access. It is now up and running.
